McCoun Tomahawks specializes in producing traditional style tomahawks to fit a wide range of uses. We have chosen 4140 for our steel type because of its chromium and carbon content making it an excellent choice for heavy use high impact tools.
This Tomahawk has a slot at the top of the handle with a hammer wedge inside. The wedge can be driven in further with a square punch should the head become loose on the handle.
Specifications:
The Head of this tomahawk is pinned onto the handle, this prevents the head from sliding down the handle if the handle shrinks.

Wish I had this in Bosnia to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan
Walking through a gun show in San Antonio in 2023 and found a gent selling McCoun hawks then went home and researched and checked out YT and was hooked. I bought two more on line. They are incredible. Over the years I’ve heard SF group guys talking about these hawks. I showed a Vietnam vet my three and he said the same thing… “I wish I had one of these years ago.” He’s right. I can’t tell you how much I wish I had this during IFOR/SFOR and the OIF and OEF time. I’m amazed at the quality and beautiful craftsmanship in every single product. I’ve had blades break and cheap handles snap and this is just not a worry with any McCoun product. The other hawks I’ve purchased here like the “bag” and “scout” hawk are just perfect for bushcraft and camping to scouting. Thank you again so much and I’m waiting for #4 and that Bowie to come back in stock. Thanks for continuing the legacy. Jamie
